Problems in: Painting, Narrative and the Contemporary Figure: Sarah Schuster

Triptych Narrative Assignment
Students were asked to make a copy of a favorite painting from the history of art. The painting needs to suggest a story to them. Once this painting is complet they make two paintings, one imagining a scene that proceeded the copy, and a second that imagines a scene following the copy.

Murder Mystery Assignment
Students were asked to create, or purchase a dollhouse, or use a scene from a favorite movie, or a photograph and to use this as a setting to set up a murder mystery. The idea is to use multiple scenes in one painting or several canvases to convey the passage of time.
